Learning and Work Institute is an independent voice, dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, full employment and inclusion. We campaign and act as an advocate for all adult learners, the low paid and the unemployed, especially those at most disadvantage. To achieve this we develop policy solutions and campaigns that offer fresh thinking and insight. Our campaigning is backed up by evidence – robust, independent and hard-hitting.
To deliver these objectives, we engage a range of political audiences, the main ones being the UK Government and Parliament, the EU Commission and the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Our engagement is governed by a number of clear principles:
- We seek to be open and constructive, acting in a way that is consistent with our values and aims.
- We engage with politicians and officials, in government and opposition.
- We do not support or align ourselves to any political parties or make political donations.
- Our responses to formal government consultations are available publicly.
